Decision support tool with on line user help

Agrofood industrial productions require heating and cooling which are satisfied with separated devices: thermal boilers and electrically driven refrigerators. Using heat driven cooling technologies and integrating solar thermal collectors, Solar Assisted Heating and Cooling (SAHC) plants can meet the energy needs, exploiting a relevant percentage of solar resource.

The main aim of SAHC project is to remove barriers, providing the managers of agro-food companies a decision making software and guidelines enabling for a preliminary assessment of the technical, economical and financial viability of the solution offered by the market and support the managers in the optimal choice in terms of configuration, dimensioning and project financing. The project focuses on 5 EU countries with a significant solar potential, namely Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal and France. At the end of the project 20 feasibility studies in agrofood companies will be carried out.

Target groups are decision makers and production managers in agrofood companies, solar plant designers, energy managers and Energy Service Companies.
